    We are looking for an experienced Firmware Test Engineer for Continuous Test Operations to join our team in Boise to support one of our largest clients in the area - Hewlett Packard. Continuous Test (CT) is a process the Firmware (FW) team at HP uses to check the quality of our FW code. It is a test suite of basic tests that we run on a daily basis in an effort to proactively find issues and get them to the firmware engineers to resolve before we start our main testing on a product. In this role, in Continuous Test Operations, you will manage the day-to-day running of the CT test suite.

    Responsibilities

    • Daily management of Continuous Test (CT) functions including ensuring printer hardware is operational and tests are running successfully
    • Triage of issues found in CT including pulling FW traces or producing other documentation to assist firmware engineers in resolving issues
    • Creation of defects in ALM or Jira (HP Internal defect reporting tools)
    • Assigning issues to firmware engineers for resolution
    • Partnering with test engineers to request and then incorporate test changes into CT
    • Add tests developed by test engineers to the CT test suite
    • Partner with the CT Test Lead on other activities pertaining to the operations of CT
    • Working with the DIST/REGS teams to reproduce, document and assign issues during their testing periods using the same processes and internal defect tracking systems mentioned above

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or similar
    • 2+ years of relevant experience, ideally a testing background
    • Software skills with application to testing (i.e. defect management tools) is a plus’
    • Python knowledge is a plus, but not required
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple issues, tasks, and priorities at the same time
    • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
