  • Overview

    The Material Coordinator-III position is responsible for inventory control of various products in a DET warehouse/media center environment. Uses databases and spreadsheets to ensure proper inventory of paper/media supplies, as well as other applicable materials. Uses databases and spreadsheets to audit user-level checkout and restock of paper/media/packaging materials. Collects and reports data using specific spreadsheets and applicable databases.  Supervisor and team leader of the Material Coordinator-II’s.  Organizes, scheduled and prioritizes the work of the team.  Acts as primary point of contact for customers seeking paper/media supplies or offsite storage services.


    • Stock, re-stock, ship and receive materials including, but not limited to: Pallets, boxes and reams of paper products, ink supplies, packaging supplies and boxes.
    • Ensure distribution of paper, media, ink cartridge, and print-head supplies to printer units under test, as required.
    • Coordinates with R&D inventory control & management specialists regarding any shortages of ink cartridge and print-head supplies required for DET lab testing.
    • Collect & report data using specific spreadsheets and applicable databases.
    • Oversee the inventory cycle counting process.
    • Maintain department logs, records, metrics, and procedures.
    • Able to effectively communicate both in writing and orally with engineers, customers and peers.
    • Audit the accuracy of database entries by users of the materials.
    • Required to train and certify new or incoming Material Coordinator-II’s.
    • Demonstrates high level of flexibility, moving from task to task, with short notice.
    • Make all appropriate entries into the materials/warehouse database.
    • Assist other team members as requested and within scope of training.
    • Run special inventory requests as delegated by the TE3/TE2 or Site Ops Manager.
    • Handle and dispose of used media and consumables per documented procedures.
    • Inform the Site Ops Manager of any administrative issues.
    • Inform the Test Engineers of any process issues or product problems.




    • Must be able to use a computer with a high level of proficiency and accuracy, including advanced skill level on Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.
    • Ability to operate a pallet jack and forklift
    • Demonstrate accuracy on detail oriented or repetitive job assignments.
    • Understanding of OSHA safety requirements for warehouse type work.
    • Must be able to provide and follow written/verbal instructions.
    • Ability to resolve potential customer complaints/issues in a positive and pro-active manner.
    • Excellent organizational & communication skills
    • Ability to make decisions and take appropriate action to ensure a safe and appropriate work place.
    • Ability to work with stakeholders both internally and externally across client's organization.
    • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and partner with project management to design and implement robust solutions.
    • Accurate & detailed oriented on repetitive tasks.
    • Basic math skills using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions & decimals.
    • Good judgment and decision making skills.
    • Attention to detail.  Must be punctual and dependable.
    • Able to multi-task and prioritize work as demanded by product testing needs.
    • Team Player: Ability to work with others & maintain positive attitude.
    • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted.
    • Correctable vision to read inventory labels.
    • Willingness to work a compressed work week or in different shifts. Overtime may be required.


    Education & Experience Required + Job Scoping:

    • Education: High school diploma or GED (General Educational Development) is required.  2 year diploma in post-secondary college, inventory management, is preferred.
    • Work Experience: Minimum 12 months’ work experience as a Material Coordinator-II, which can be waived dependent on prior work experience, skillset, educational qualifications and industry standard certifications.
    • Job Scoping: Material Coordinator-III, fulfills the minimum expectations of this position.  Material Coordinator-II is the trainee level for Material Coordinator-III position.
