Overview

This position is in Rancho Bernardo area of San Diego. The engineer will work in a facility of US. leading printing company. And work with engineer and management from the company as a team.

 

We are looking for an experienced system administrator to manage onsite service room and AWS cloud. This position will handle a variety of responsibilities including: Windows and Linux administrator, HP Server and Storage administrator, VMware administrator experience, Database administrator experience. Candidate will require have at least windows administrator experience and one of other experience. Training will be provided.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Monitor all server room resources (power, cooling and space). Remotely manage and remediate network infrastructure devices, servers. 
  • Configuring, monitoring and maintaining over 100 Windows and Linux operating systems in a VMware virtualized environment. 
  • Ensuring that all servers operate at optimum levels
  • Support, monitor, test and troubleshoot HP server, storage, and network hardware and software problems; performing and coordinating effective installation and upgrading of advanced operating system hardware and software.
  • Installing new software releases, system upgrades, evaluating and installing patches and resolving software related problems; planning and performing appropriate procedures, documenting inventory assessment and other procedures related to security.
  • Update and maintain core infrastructure system resources and configurations (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, vCenter…)
  • Maintain, monitor and analyze system components and make recommendations for system improvement.
  • Troubleshooting/Analyzing performance and reliability issues, and the initiation of related improvement work
  • Coordinate troubleshooting efforts for other non-supported issues.
  • Providing Server hardware and software support.
  • Backup, recovery and contingency planning, onsite and offsite.
  • Create scripts in Windows (powershell), Linux (Bash, python) as necessary
  • Proactive approach towards managing and remediation of alerts in order to maintain systems in a healthy and realizable state.
  • Install and track latest service packs and configurations on systems for both OS and application, e.g. Windows Server 2012r2-2016, Linux Centos 7, Ubuntu 16.4, OSx
  • Maintain and document policies and procedures within established standards.
  • Provides technical lab PC desktop support as needed
  • Be available for after-hours/on-call support.
  • Weekly Report showing the tasks/deliverables that were completed, current work in progress and any known blockings issues

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • 5 Years min experience with Windows  2012R2-2016 and Linux Operating Systems Administration. 
  • Working experience with VMWare vCenter 6+. 
  • Perform HP Server hardware/software diagnostics; experience with Active Directory and Group Policy;
  • ability to work effectively in team environment; self-starter who requires minimal supervision and can provide oversight for any assigned projects; thorough knowledge of good server and system administration.
  • Strong experience with installation, configuration and general maintenance of windows and linux operating systems.

 

Big plus:

  • Network monitoring and trouble shooting.
  • Previous automation experience.
  • VMware 6+ administration, vCloud installation and administration.
  • Administration experience with AWS EC2 and S3 (Setup, Configuration, Connectivity)
  • Share storage SAN administration.
  • iSCSI network/storage.
  • Experience with DHCP, DNS, AD, GPO, sysprep, system cloning
