Job Description


The candidate will work as an analytics implementation leader with hands-on knowledge and experience to set best practice standards while growing a team of implementation analysts. This position will have a lead role in supporting the tag design and production of Adobe Analytics tracking requirements, and the integration of various third-party analytics technologies, for a high-profile client in the automotive industry. This person must effectively work and communicate with vendors and partners while playing the role of a data strategist, collector, steward, and hygienist in support of digital marketing analytics objectives.


Responsibilities include:


  • Serve as the subject matter expert for analytics implementations, including ownership of the site tagging process, consultation and support, data taxonomy, and the integration of other third-party tools.
  • Define, set, and enforce tag management and data governance best practices and standards.
  • Build an effective team by recruiting, developing, training, and mentoring implementation analysts.
  • Prioritize and delegate team workload, negotiating deadlines and maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Architect site tagging strategies for collecting digital behavioral data on various digital properties.
  • Create solutions to solve implementation issues, meet strategic initiatives, and streamline the data collection process.
  • Design and build comprehensive Adobe Analytics site tagging specifications or requirements, along with quality assurance test plans for site tags.
  • Execute quality assurance or user acceptance testing of analytics site tags developed by the development teams, including identifying, diagnosing and troubleshooting potential issues with tags and configuration issues.
  • Work closely with various development teams to ensure successful delivery of site analytics tagging on web, mobile, and app properties.
  • Coordinate with development and design teams to effectively manage the implementation of analytics site tags.
  • Partner with the analytics account managers to understand and define business KPIs and measurement objectives.
  • Troubleshoot problems and resolve issues regarding the data on a day-to-day basis.
  • Manage all vendor accounts and partnerships.
  • Evaluate and recommend new analytics tools and emerging technologies.





  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of analytics-related implementation experience
  • Must have experience with the design, validation, and implementation of Adobe Analytics site tags, including tag design and mapping, s code, plug-ins, server call types, cookies, and link tracking
  • Working knowledge of tag management systems, including bootstrap code maintenance, tag creation, tag deployment, data layer management, and administration
  • Involvement with validation of site tags using packet sniffer programs (e.g. Omnibug, Fiddler, Charles, etc.)
  • People management skills: experience in teaching, delegating, holding accountable, and motivating team members
  • Project management skills: ability to juggle multiple projects, manage and delegate workload, adapt to changing/conflicting priorities, and breakdown strategy into work tasks
  • Must understand the consulting environment and how to engage clients with a “can do” attitude
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing implementation issues and site tags without reliance on 3rd party consultants
  • Knowledge and working experience with JavaScript code
  • Must be well-versed, organized, and detail-oriented in data validation
  • Understanding of how digital analytics works, from point of data capture to data processing
  • Takes initiative and ownership of projects
  • Critical thinker who can problem solve
  • Excellent communication skills is a must as this role interfaces with digital marketing, project managers, various 3rd party vendors, and a less technical audience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s degree
  • Front-end development background
  • Tag management platforms, such as Ensighten and Google Tag Manager
  • Project tracking software, such as Jira
  • Experience with site optimization tools, such as Adobe Target and Optimizely
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau etc.
  • Experience with data management platforms (DMP), such as Oracle Blue Kai and Adobe Audience Manager
  • Understands (and must have hands-on experience in) how to analyze, structure and interpret large volumes of raw data into effective visual stories for business owners
  • Excels at client relationship management
  • Prior experience as a coordinator or project manager in an IT-related role
  • Experience at a marketing/advertising agency or consulting firm
  • General scripting (e.g. Perl, regular expressions, Bash, etc.)
  • Knowledge of DART for Advertisers (DFA)
  • Experience with HSQLDB / HyperSQL, MySQL, Unix/Linux, and Apache is a plus
  • Proficient working with data mining tools such as SQL and Hive
  • Working knowledge of R
  • Experience with online/offline data integration
  • Experience in an intensive and fast paced environment
  • Extremely detailed documentation skills
